Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre Foundation

Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre offers a place where hip hop culture, dance, education and talent development come together. The existing WordPress website increasingly ran into technical problems due to plugin updates. Because the original developer was no longer available, these problems could not easily be solved.

 

At the same time, Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre was preparing for new activities in 2025, including the first vocational training in hip hop in the Netherlands. This required a stable website that could properly support new programmes and developments.

 

The website also had to better suit an audience that is mainly reached on mobile and via social media. Better organic findability, easier content management and a clear link with the booking system were also important.

 

The main challenges:

We migrated the existing website from WordPress to Kooboo and set up a user-friendly CMS. As a result, the Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre team can manage the content more easily on its own from now on, and the website is less dependent on separate plugins.

 

The design was renewed for both desktop and mobile. Extra emphasis was placed on the mobile user experience, fitting an audience that mostly visits Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre via social media.

SimplyBook.me was integrated into the website via iFrames, so visitors have direct access to the current class offering and booking options. On the homepage we also added a live Instagram feed to make the organisation's energy and topicality visible.

Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre now has a stable, fast and user-friendly website that better matches the organisation's look and ambitions. The renewed design works well on both desktop and mobile and makes the offering more clearly accessible.

 

Via the integrated SimplyBook.me environment, visitors can easily view and book classes and activities. The live Instagram feed on the homepage ensures that current social content is immediately visible on the website.

 

Thanks to the migration to Kooboo, the organisation is less dependent on WordPress plugins and the team can manage the website more easily itself. The flexible technical foundation also leaves room for future activities and programmes.
